‘Histories of Women in Film and Television: Then and Now.’
Maynooth University, Ireland
10-11th July 2021.
The theme for our conference is “Histories of Women in Film and Television: Then and Now.”
The conference will be held virtually on Zoom on 10th and 11th July 2021. The conference will consist of pre-recorded videos of papers, which will be made available for attendees in advance.
We will use the Zoom feature ‘breakout rooms’ for each of the ‘rooms’ listed on the programme. We are holding two rehearsal events on July 1st: one at 09.30-10.30 GMT and another at 16.30-17.30 GMT. If you wish to book a place on one of these Zoom rehearsal events, please do so here. We will also have a test space available at the conference for those who wish to test audio, video, etc.
Conference panel presentations will be recorded on the day and available for registered conference attendees to view for one week after the conference. Presenters can, of course, opt out of having their presentation made available to others by letting the conference organisers know in advance of presenting.
Registration will be opening soon with the following fees listed below to cover the costs of virtual hosting:
- Members: €20.00
- Non-members: €30.00
- Unwaged members: €5.00
- Unwaged non-members: €10.00
- Non-presenting attendees: FREE
Click here to register for the conference. Registration will remain open until 28th June 2021, after which the final programme and video presentations will be issued.
Instructions for Participants
Participants should prepare a pre-recorded video of 10-15 minutes duration. On the day of the conference, presenters will have an opportunity to introduce their papers in a 5 minute presentation overview.
Our preference is that you provide us with videos in MP4 format. However, we recognise that this might not be possible for everyone. So, videos can take the form of:
· Quicktime or other video-recording format compatible with MP4
· Recorded Powerpoint or Keynote presentations
· Zoom, Teams, Skype calls with clips, images or presentation incorporated
More instructions about recording and submitting presentations have been emailed to participants. If you have not received this email, or you need more help, please email email@example.com.
