Welcome to Women’s Film and Television History Network U.K. and Ireland
We are a group of researchers, teachers, archivists, collections managers, students, professionals, and enthusiasts engaged in exploring the contributions women have made to the emergence and development of film and television.
As a means of encouraging, supporting and disseminating research into women’s participation in screen media, the WFTHN holds a biennial conference, Doing Women’s Film and Television History (DWFTH).
Our next conference is called DWFTH5, “Histories of Women in Film and Television: Then and Now.” This is an online conference hosted by Maynooth University, Ireland, 10-11 July 2021.
The conference is now open for registration. Click here to register for the conference. Registration will remain open until 28th June 2021, after which the final programme and video presentations will be issued.
Follow the official conference Twitter account for updates: @DWFTH5.
As part of this year’s events, we also curated a special edition of Alphaville journal. Click the image above to find out more!
