Network Organisation

To ensure continuing core activities, the WFTHN Co-ordinators and Committee, which consist of self-funding volunteers, have taken on particular responsibilities and meet several times a year to review and co-ordinate activities and new developments.

Co-ordinator and Committee membership is drawn from founding members and those volunteering or nominated at WFTHN meetings held at the biennial Doing Women’s Film and Television History conference. Positions will be held for between two and four years but volunteers may offer or be co-opted to take up ad hoc positions at any time.

WFTHN is additionally supported in its work by an Advisory Group that is made up of a number of professionals and experts who may offer advice and expertise on a range of issues as required.

Network Meetings

As well as committee meetings, the Network holds open caucus meetings at relevant events such as the Screen, MeCCSA, and Consoling Passions conferences, Women and the Silent Screen (next congress Australia, 2013), and the British Silent Film Festival in order to publicise activity, reach a wider audience, broaden membership and seek new ideas.
